With our new range of Merino running underwear expanding to men and women's underwear and running socks; we look at the natural benefits of Merino wool clothing.
Popular since launching in 2016, our Merino underwear has gained excellent reviews among both Runderwear customers and press.
So, why should you choose Merino Running Underwear?
It's made from a specialist formula of Merino wool, polyester, polyamide and elastane, designed to provide premium performance underwear to keep you chafe-free throughout your winter training.
Here are 5 further reasons to choose Merino:
1. Merino running underwear will keep you warm when you're cold and cool when you're hot.
Natural Merino Wool is warm and remains warm even when wet, making it perfect for anyone who wants to adventure outdoors. Merino Wool also regulates body temperature - due to its natural breathability. This keeps you cool when you get hot as it wicks away any moisture, effectively keeping you comfortable when you train and compete.
2. Merino is a naturally anti-bacterial fabric.
Merino Wool has completely natural anti-bacterial properties. So say goodbye to smelly odours that stick to normal fabrics! It's perfect if you are on a long multi-day adventure, for marathons and ultra-running, or if you're spending a lot of time in your Runderwear.
3. Irresistibly soft running underwear.
Merino fibres are extremely fine and durable, enabling them to bend and flex far more than traditional, coarser wool fibres. This makes Merino Wool feel soft and luxuriously gentle on your skin.
4. Natural tech fibres for winter running.
Merino Wool fibres are measured in 'microns' and have a natural ergonomic fit due to the fibre width. The simplest way of looking at it is that the lower the level of Microns, the finer and softer the Merino will feel next to the skin. Runderwear uses a level of 17.5 and 18. This is very low and means no itching and will be incredibly comfortable against your skin. It is also light and strong - perfect for exercising.
5. It looks after our environment and is renewable!
Love the outdoors? Then look after the outdoors. That is one of our sayings at Runderwear HQ. Merino wool is grown year-round by Australia's 70 million Merino sheep, consuming a simple blend of water, air, sunshine and grass. A great way to care for the environment so we can continue to enjoy it.
